Shankar Maitra, resident of 87/51 A.K. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata 700090, a physically handicapped person
under Section 80U of Income Tax Act, along with my wife, Sabita Maitra and my minor daughter, applied
to Regional Passport Office, Kolkata for issuance of Passport, duly under Ref. A079199 dt.17.9.2010 under
Key No. 6507919910, A085695 dt. 07.10.10 under Ke No. 6508569510 and F019195 dt.12.10.2010 under
Key No. 7001919510.
I was, on 19.11. asked by local P.S. Baranagar of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal to attend the
Police Station with all documents of myself, my wife and my daughter for police verification. On 22.11.
I went there along with these documents. Subsequently, my documents were checked, verified, xerox
copies of various documents wrere received by them and a IP No.36038 was allotted to me. After around
10 (ten) days, my wife, Sabita Maitra, was again asked to visit that Police Station and asked to submit required documents.
She deposited xerox copies of her voters' card, pan card, BSNL telephone bill (as address proof verification),
ration card, bank statement and address proof. But she was unnecessarily harassed by way of requiring
her father's death certificate, mothers voter card, deed before birth and electric bill. These are very ridiculous
and definitely with the purpose of some ill motive behind it. And they have not provided her further IP No.
My minor daughter, Swagata Maitra has not yet, however, been asked to attend the Poloice Station so far.
