I had been to G.K, Vale photograph services kiosk, near Udupi Gardens, BTM, Bangalore today. I requested for a Schengen Visa photograph, and asked for 18 copies. When asked, if i should get a Coat and a tie, as i wanted it to be a formal picture, they mentioned that, that will be done digitally, and charged Rs 80/- extra for that. The total bill came to Rs 265/-. I did the payment and waited till the person came to take the picture. After about 20 minutes, a person asked me to enter the studio and took the picture. Since i had mentioned that for editing purpose, i need to approve of the selection of the coat and tie, i waited outside the counter, and repeatedly asked them for the same. There was this person, who mentioned that some processing is going on, and after about 25 minutes, they came with the photograph. The result was a disaster. With a light blue coat and a yellow tie, i was looking like a joker. When i asked them that i had mentioned earlier that i would be approving the digital rework, they simply said, either take it or leave it, and the guy pushed me out of the room, took the receipt from me, and put the photographs on the counter. Since i didn't know what to make of those pictures, i simply came back, without those, and mentioned to them that i will be taking legal action against them.
If you happen to contact the owner of the mentioned services company, i would definitely like to have a word with him, and show him the standard of people they have recruited in the studio. G.K.Vale was a pioneer, once upon a time, but now, since they have started focusing on product selling, the quality of their photography has gone to the drain. I was an avid admirer of this said studio, but now, after this shoddy treatment, I will never ever go to this place again, and ask my friends to do the same too.
