In Feb I had taken a 6 months membership for Rs.17, 000/- at Ministry of fitness. The inaugration of the gym was on 14th Frb 2010. I was told the gym would be fully functional from 1st March. Due to the nature of my work I had told the concerned sales person I would let him know when I would join the Gym on a regular basis. I was told that there is a charge of 500 or 600 Rs, incase the membership starts and the member is not able to come for the workouts. However since I was a "valuable customer" they would make an exception in my case and not charge me anything for holding the membership, I could start whenever I felt like & the membership would start from that day. When i finally had the time to devote to my fitness, I went to the gym for the 1st time & I was told the membership was due to expire!!! When I confronted the sales person who had promised me the deal, he turned around & tells me there is nothing he can do about it and that my membership will expire soon.
I did not even use the gym facilities even for a day! Besides I have not got the Nike shoes & the sipper as promised. Rather I was told to take a full years membership for Rs 28, 000/- and they would give me 1 year free membership!!! They do not even have a track of members coming to the gym.
This is insane.
