Cheats in disguise of executives

My Parents had an Airtel Post Paid connection in their name which they wanted to discontinue and Faxed a letter to Airtel in the month end of october. The connection was immediately discontinued, no calls could be received nor any could be made, but the bills have still not stopped pouring into our letter box, we have even been subjected to a notice stating that if we did not pay the bills from oct till date we will be prosecuted. My 67 years old parents are receiving threat calls from Airtel Customer Care. Both me and my brother are living abroad and feeling horribly helpless about this situation.

Is there any way this can be stopped? Is there at least one Human being in this so called "Care" unit of Airtel's?
