I got a post paid connection of Idea Cellular with no. 9540077850 and one additional no.in Dec. I opted for the plan of paying rental for 24 months in advance. I did not apply for GPRS but when I received the first verbal bill through phone call (no hard copy or soft copy of bill was sent) then I enquired about the itemized bill and came to know that GPRS charges has been added. I told the customer care to stop it with immediate effect but he told that you have to pay for one more month as billing cycle of this month has started. I had nothing to do but to accept.
He also told me that if you close this service then in future you will never get thie facility of GPRS.Though I told him to stop the service.
I requested for hard copy of bill and customer care person requested me to go for soft copy (through email) in order to save tree by saving paper. I agreed. This was the trick of IDEA cellular to cheat the customer. Next bill was sent in password protected pdf file. I had to use the first four letters of my name and last 4 digits of customer id. My name is Sudarshan Kumar and I started to open the file with suda5441 but the file did not open. I contacted customer care but did not got the right password. I kept on paying the bill as per the SMS received and was not able to open the bill. I used to pay the amount as asked by the co. assuming that they must be charging properly. After following for few months i got the password which was to my surprise maru5441 .My name has nothing to do with "maru".
This was the gimmick of Idea cellular co. They charged me for Idea music station @ Rs. 199 P.M. for few months (which I had not requested) till I was not able to open the ebill as password provided was not working. I complained about it but again the same reply, you have to pay till this month.
From next month they stopped charging for music but started chatging for GPRS again. They Charged for Feb & March in a single bill @ Rs.150 PM.How can they start GPRS if in Feb they told me that you will never get this facility again if you close it.
Then I wrote to customer care and lodged complain also. They gave me a refund of Rs. 150 for GPRS whereas they had charged Rs.300.
Also I had opted for a plan which says that you pay Rs. 200 in advance and Rs. 50 will be deducted from the bill for next 8 months. But in place of Rs. 50 I got discount of Rs. 35 or 40. When asked about it, they told that the Rs. 50 was maximum amount which was not told at the time of selling the plan by Idea cellular.
After that they started sending SMS that you have pressed * for song selection. If you do not reply within 24 hours then caller tune will be loaded to your mobile. Again a method of looting.
This is not only the case with me. I know 4-5 of my friends who are getting false bill but they are paying as they do not want to change the no. or plan as they had already paid 24 months rental.
In nut shell, IDEA Celluaur is cheating its customer in a Big way.
