Hi,
i had recently traveled to Singapore. For this purpose i contacted Matrix Cellular International Services in order to a get a sim card for using in Singapore. When the executive came to deliver the same and the product information was given to me, i was told that GPRS services are not available on the SIM & cannot be activated, only plans for Blackberry users were there.
i am working in a MNC and use a Nokia E-7 phone, which downloads my mails for office & personal accounts directly. When i came back from Singapore i was billed for Rs. 7, 500 for "data charges". On complainnig to the Matrix Customer support i was told that GPRS services were pre-activated on the sim, hence the charges for downloads. Since i was not aware that GPRS services are pre-activated i did not deactivate the automatic download of mails on my phone, hence when i put the sim card in my phone in singapore, it downloaded all the pending mails. This resulted in the excess charges of Rs. 7, 500, my telephone budget for the trip was only Rs. 800, my calls were well withing the budget, but this "data surges" is definitely uncalled for. i want compensation against this fraudulent company who do not give complete product information before sale.
Please help!!!
