Hi,

In Dec Airtel has activated 200MB of free data usage. I have never asked to activate this service. They never informed how this is going to work, how long it will be. When I got the bill there was charge for Rs 1800 for data usage. When I called Airtel customer care they told I have used 173 MB and I have been charged INR 1800 for the same. I was in shock for a while. There was no intimation when the free usage was over. They could have discontinued the service and asked customer to check if they want to continue and then charged them. But no option was given for anything. they gave 200 MB free and charged INR 1800 from me. I am not sure how many such customer would have been there. How much do they charge for 200MB if a customer subscribe for a package. (100 Rs for 1 or 2 GB of data) but here the bill was INR 1800 for 173 MB of data. After making multiple complains there was no resolution. I tried fighting the case with multiple authorities but no use I got same recorded reply. At the end I felt I was badly cheated. I was given a service I have never asked for on the top of that I was made paid a bulky amount also. Nice way of making money isn't it...
