I am Prashant Nandeshwar using an airtel no i.e.9960261336 since last 3 years which i purchased from a retailer at Nagpur. While purchasing, I had submitted all KYC related document. In these 3 years, i have contacted Airtel customer care many times. they used to verify my name first i.e. Prashant Nandeshwar for this no and then proceeded for any of my request or complaint.
On 26/02, I opted for MNP so that I can port in to Reliance. On 27/02 i got my Porting ID i.e. AZ815487. But on 28/02, I got a call from Airtel customer care telling me that this no is not in my name. And then they blocked my no on 01/03.
I can't understand this, for 3 years Airtel Customer care used to verify this no on my name and now suddenly, when I opted for MNP they are telling me that this is not my no. How is it possible? If this is not my no, then how did they verified it for 3 years. Or it is just for the sake of harassing the costumers so that they can't port out from Airtel.
I am an employee of an Insurance company and I Know how strictly we adhere to the KYC norms laid by government. But this thing has changed my view towards KYC norms. If a big company like Airtel can change the complete Identity of a customer at any time, what is the use of submitting these documents. And how this KYC norms and Mobile Number Portability can be treated as a success in our country?
I expect help in this matter so that this problem can be sorted out soon and my number starts again.
