Postpaid connection permanently disconnected

I have been using my number for quite a few years and I had to travel outside of India during which my phone went on international roaming. I decided not to disconnect my connection so I can use it when I come to India for various things. Now after 2 years of paying rentals and charges every month the company disconnected my number. And that too without my intimation. They say they have a internal guideline that if not used for long they disconnect. But how long... its not clear?

You can pay rentals for any amount of time to keep your connection alive and they will just disconnect any time.you cannot always use International Roaming as it is damn costly so you have to switch to other options like a calling card etc when calling to India or a Voip phone. When asked to appellate about the guidelines that after how much time they feel the number should be disconnected they say it is not clear as it is market and reputation based. What kind of an answer is that... you keep charging the customer for any duration and suddenly permanently disconnect him or her just because of non usage. WHY IT IS COMPULSORY IF I AM PAYING MY RENTALS...??

And that too without any intimation you permanently disconnect??? No email etc ...?

WHY?
