I had a landline cum broadband connection with Airtel and I was using the same for more than 2 years until Jan'12. In the Dec'11 - Jan'12 billing period, the statement which was received on Jan'12, I found an abnormal hike in the bill amount.By looking at the Itemisation, I came to know that there have been ISD charges billed to my landline account which was inappropriate. We have not made any ISD calls to those numbers (it seems to be a Gambia and U.K numbers). We do not have any relatives or friends abroad however the Airtel is forcing the charge on my account inspite of several compliants raised through email and customer service helpdesk. I have denied the payment for that month and requested a resolution on the issue. I have also requested for a cancellation of my landline.
However, I have not heared back from Airtel until mar'12. Now in mar'12, I received a email fronm Airtel claiming all outstanding due threatening with a message of legal proceedings. I'm looking for a resoultion for the issue and request a support from consumer forum toaddress my grievance to sort ou out the issue. Thanks!
