Airtel, with its new logo, has come up with new tricks to avoid porting out of new numbers. My mobile bill which erroneously shows dues (due to improper posting of payments at their end) is still not be cleared by them and hence they claim that because the bill is pending they are not in a position to allow porting out of the numbers. On top of that they suddenly send me a new bill of ridiculous amounts and claim that it is a correct bill adn I must pay the same. I am therefore required to either pay those bills or stick with airtel as the service provider.
