MNP applied on 09-02 not given effect to

I have given an application for MNP from BSNL to Airtel network for my mobile No.9444756175 on 09-02 at the Customer Care Centre at Purasawalkam, Chennai-600010.I had paid the requisite fees of Rs.19/= and I was also given the new AIRTEL sim card. I was told by the AIRTEL customer service center staff at that time that it would take at least 7 days for the switch over. As a week elapsed since I gave the application, I contacted the AIRTEL Customer Care Centre at Purasawalkam on Feb 16th and asked about the status of my application. I was told that only after the BSNL connection gets de-activated, the number portability will be given effect to. So I contacted the BSNL Customer Care Centre at Madhavaram for this purpose. I was told that hereafter BSNL has nothing to do in the matter and that only AIRTEL has to take care of this matter. I did this process twice and several times thereafter. But both the AIRTEL customer service center staff and the BSNL staff repeat the same thing. So I am tossed between the two service providers for no fault of mine. I got no response also from these service providers so far to my repeated email complaints.

Please do the needful to give effect to the MNP early.
