I have been using Airtel, since 2 years (approximately). I used to get some alert SMSs on my mobile. Since I did not subscribed to any services, I believed it is some free service provided by Airtel.
I was never bothered to confirm If it Paid service or Money is being deducted from my Account, AS IT WAS NOT REQUIRED, I DID NOT ACTIVATE ANYTHING, THEN WHY SHOULD I CHECK FOR THAT.Later, I realized balance is getting reduced unnecessarily. When I contacted Airtel, I got to know that, there are around 5 paid services activated on my number. Then I asked them how? Reply was, few are activated by myself (I was Surprised to hear that. Without me Sending a message/call, Airtel claims that I activated it). And they said, Few are through some links in Internet. Again, I did not activated it through Internet even. If a third party can do it from Internet, then WHAT IS THE SECURITY AIRTEL IS PROVIDING?
That is the past story. I complained about this many times. Talked to senior desk twice.(Customer Care Representative connecting my call to Senior desk is another story to narrate - many time they keep me on hold indefinitely saying they are connecting to senior desk. Somehow, calling customer care three or four times repeatedly, every time I manage to speak to the Senior Desk).
Last time, a lady from Customerr care assured me, she will refund all the amount deducted from my account and Will assure that, NO SERVICES WILL BE ACTIVATED WITHOUT MY CONFIRMATION.I was happy and relieved thinking that my time is saved and money is safe.
IT WAS MY FAULT to believe AIRTEL'S assurance.
within days, I got another alert of some film actress. I deleted the message without replying for activation.
next day onwards, getting messages as if I am subscribed to it.
(Note: for all the services activated by Airtel, it happened the same way. Day1 I get message -If you want to subscribe, reply. Day 2 onwards I get alerts as if I am subscribed. BASICALLY, YOU DO NOT AHVE TO DO ANYTHING FOR A VALUE ADDED MESSAGE SERVICE TO ACTIVATE IN YOUR MOBILE.IT WILL GET ACTIVATED BY ITSELF.FUNNY..???).
I AM FRUSTRTAED AND IRRITATED USING AIRTEL, ONLY BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE.

TO SUMMARIZE:
1) PAID SERVICES GETTIGN ACTIVATED ON MY MOBILE WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE.
2) I WANT TO KNOW HOW MUCH MONEY IS DEDUCTED IN THE PAST 2 YEARS FOR THIS.
3) EVERY CALL TO CUSTOMER CARE IS CHARGED.
I WANT FUND BACK (AMOUNT DEDUCTED FOR ALL THE SERVICES EXCEPT BALAJI SERVICE WHICH ACTIVATED MYSELF, CALL CHARGED FOR CUSTOEMR CARE INTERACTION AND A DECENT COMPENSATION FOR WASTING MY TIME AND FOR TEH FRUSTRAION INCURRED DUE TO THIS).
