I booked Swosti Plaza (4 Start) hotel in Gopalpur, Orissa for my vacation in last summer. The room charge for AC Deluxe room was Rs. 2250/- per night. Whereas the average room tariff for other start hotels in that tourist spot is @ Rs. 1000/-. I agreed to pay that much just because I expected good (clean) rooms with other moderate facilities.
But once I reached there I found that the best quality room is so dirty & specially the toilet was horrible (with all kinds of insetcs available). The cleanliness & hygine of the hotel was pathetic.
Add to that, though I booked AC Deluxe room but 2 days in my stay over there was having power cut leading to AC not working. While asked the hotel guys they said during power cut they do not have the generator capable to taking the load of ACs and hence AC can not be switched on though at the time of booking while I asked about the facilities they gave all rosey pictures. In that summer time, it became a nightmare for me when continuous long time there is no AC in the hotel room & I had to struggle with all different sorts of insects in the room.
My vacation became a horrifying experience for me. I would suggest others to be aware of Swosti Plaza Group of Hotels anywhere in India & make all possible checks even if you are planning to make a booking with them.
