Poor service & ETF

At the end of January I contacted DirecTV to cancel my service because my lease was up at that particular address. I informed the Cust. Service Rep. that I cannot keep the TV service since I was moving to a property where the management does not allow satellite dishes on their roofs. The Cust. Service rep. said to me that I needed to fulfill my obligation to the contract for service and that I needed to remain with them for another 11 months. I was also told that just because I’m moving to a address where satellite dishes are not allowed is not an acceptable reason to cancel service. She informed me that I would be charged an early termination fee. I also experienced occasional outages of service from thunderstorms and high winds where I lost the signal to watch TV. I feel that this is very unacceptable with how unreliable their service is when inclement weather arises. I totally feel that their business practices are out of line, where they would expect someone to pay an ETF just because they are relocating to where their service is not allowed by a property management! I informed Rep. that I would file a complaint with the FCC on this issue and also file a complaint on Complaints Board!!! The representative didn't even seem to care that I was going to be taking this action against them. They have placed my acct. with Afni Inc. (a collection agency) and I have been harassed by a collector on the phone when they called my residence.
