I am an Airtel post paid customer for both a mobile connection and a broadband connection.
3 weeks ago, on 16/02, I booked a digital TV connection by sending an SMS of BUY to 54325.
I was called by a customer service rep, asked to pay Rs. 999 using my credit via the IVR. This was paid and confirmed. The customer service rep took down all my details - name, address, cell phone number etc.
Then nothing happened. Not a call, no SMS, no email.
Despite multiple calls to the Customer Service helpline, and repeated assurances by various customer service representatives that I will be contacted by their team and given a Customer ID and installation date, nothing has happened so far.
Despite having made a payment, I have been told by customer service representatives that my mobile number has not been registered in their systems.
Bottom line: It's has been 3 weeks since my credit card was charged, and I still have not received even one call, don't have either a Customer ID and more importantly do not have an installed, working Airtel Digital TV connection.
Tata sky and Dish TV come and install after an order is made in just 2 days, so it is very sad to see this dismal level of service from Airtel. If this is how Airtel "services" new requests for business, I can't imagine what the actual service levels for customers are like.
The large number of complaints on this site itself is testament to the fact that this is a service to be avoided.
