Hello
I purchased a Aviva Dhan Varsha Policy NDV3069930. As per company rules the policy can be withdrawn 15 days from date of issue.
During the time of application, I wrote a specific letter to indicate that policy document was to be handed over to me personally since my permanent address is in Bangalore and current address is in Mumbai.
The policy was started on May 1st and document was sent to Bangalore instead of handing over to me. Since I was unaware of the policy document being received at my permanent residence, I was not actually able to go to Aviva branch to cancel the policy. However in parallel, I tried to contact phone customer and email customer with no significant success.
Now in May 26th, I happen to visit bangalore and received the document and actively seeking cancellation of the policy.
The following issues are highlighted:
1. The policy document was not handed over to me, as requested at the time of application.
2. I was unaware of the policy document being sent to Bangalore, since I was under impression that I will be receiving it myself.
3. The 15 days calculation for cancelling policy is not valid since I was not aware of policy document being sent to Bangalore, instead of my mumbai address or being hand delivered.
4. The phone support is really bad, since we are not sure if they are really taking request or not.
I am seeking to get my policy premium back from Aviva India
