Penalty despite 48 days grace period

The Platinum card vide., No. 4629 8668 6455 1004 was used to pay an amount of Rs. 30000.00 (Rupees Thirty thousabd only) on 07.12.2011 and the same was reimbursed thru a cheque vide., No. 219991 drawn on Canara Bank, Gariahat, Kolkata on 09 -01, well within the mandatory period of interest free credit period of 48 days but to our surprise your statement letter dtd. Jan.14 ask us to pay Rs. 1, 363.19 by Feb. 01, to which we the senior citizens, the holders of your credit card, have been taken to task. Be kind enough to clarify the stand of your Bank in the matter and absolve us of the ignominy of this hassle. Kindly note that our family value your banking ethics with much regard in as much as we have SB Accounts operating in various cities of your branches and this claim on your part may change our stand.
