Refund on cancellation

Hi

My parents took a insurance for Health 6 mnth back.. this was a one year policy

As I am company now covers my parents I want to cancel the insurance and I was told I will not get any refund if I cancel the policy..

Ridiculous Business ..

Can some one guide me what are my options??
