IBP - Sri Venkateswara Service Station
Stealing of petrol tank cap

I had filled up petrol for Rs 200 with Srienkateswara Service Station situated in Jeevan Bhima Nagar in Bangalore. I had filled up petrol at 18 hrs 16 mts on 5th May. The tin no of the station as appearing in the bill I have is No 1461170 and the TIN No 29630076538.

I had driven only 40 kms but I felt that the gas is not sufficent and once again I wanted to fill up further petrol and stopped enroute at 22.45 hours for further filling up of gas.

I was shocked to find that the cap was missing in the petrol tank and I rushed at 23.00 hrs to Sri Venkateswara service station which was right opposite to the petrol bunk I went to fill up again at 23.45 hrs.

Since there was no responsible person at Sri Venkateswara Service station, I left complaint with the personal available.

Subsequently I went to the service station on 7th May morning to check on the complaint and to my shock no one has even informed the other personnel working in the bunk. Once again I told the issue and they said to come in the afternoon they will get the cap.

Again I approached the bunk in the afternoon to be told to come again in the evening. I pursued and went again in the evening and was told to come next day but I protested as I have made 3 trips to the bunk without any success and I wanted to have owners contact number which was not given to me, instead I was told that they will deliver the cap to my residence which was close by on 8th May by 2 PM. I left my mobile number but I did not get any call or cap till 4 PM on 8th May.

Once again on my own I visited the Petrol bunk to be simply told that they dont have the cap and they were not willing to share the owners contact no.

I have following to complaint.

1. I suspect theft of the cap if any customer is putting less petrol and the filling persons feel that the customer will not return instead put the cap immediately on finding the absence of cap while filling up next time.

2. It is highly risky for the customers who are exposed to fire due to lack of tank cap

3. I did not get compaint book or the employees did not want to give the complaint book

4. It should be made compulsory for all the petrol bunks to paint the contact no of the owner/licence no

I would like IBP to initiate immediate action against this bunk.

Regards,

Kumar
