I gave my bike (Honda Shine) for servicing at JSP Honda on 8th Jan. Kukatpally (Hyderabad-72). My bike was purchased on May and is used for a distance of 20300kms.
I asked for general service and fork cones replacement as there is a problem with the fork. After the service, the fork problem had been rectified but the next day I found that all the electronic components (self start, horn, flipper and side indicators) connected to battery stopped functioning. The next I took my bike to the showroom and reported the problem.
The technician after observing the battery informed me that one of the leads of the battery was broken and it couldn't be rectified. But I clearly mentioned him that there wasn't any problem with my battery before the servicing and I hadn't even asked them to check the battery. I realised that there had been some wrong handling or the original battery had been replaced by a faulty one.
I spoke to Service Manager but no justice done. He started bluffing that the battery already had a problem and it came into light only after their inspection. I again made clear that the battery was perfectly alright till the last minute before giving for servicing. But they started arguing that at the time of delivery there wasn't any problem and they were not responsible for problems occured after the delivery.
Finally after long wait for more than 2 hours, they said they can't do anything except replacing the battery with a new one purchased on my own expense. I got the battery checked by outside bike mechanic and he found out that there was a small metal piece behind the broken battery lead which was used as adjustement to make the battery function temporarily.
