This is to express my complete dissatisfaction with the quality of the Maruti Astar vehicle I purchased recently. Purchase details are mentioned below:

This is in reference to my complaint number with Maruti Suzuki Complaint#...4742 registered on 16-Nov at 08:50hours to on-road-helpline number 18004200. The fuel pump (the gasket for which recalled earlier in Nov) failed completely and I was left stranded in a traffic intersection. The car simply did not re-start. Thereafter I called their helpline for the mechanic. The mechanic arrived after an hour from Navneet Motors, Thane & said the fuel pump motor has failed & car will not re-start. I had to get the car towed to the service center at my expense which was stated by the Maruti on-road service helpline executive. After another one-hour of wait, I managed to arrange a towing service & towed my car to Spectra Motor, Ghatkopar West, which also happens to be my dealer. Dealer said that the spare part is not available and it will take more than a week to obtain it. After expressing my displeasure they said they would try to arrange it at the earliest. Fortunately, I am under the two year warranty period and the cost of part is covered.
Within 17months of purchase of a brand new car of repute like Maruti, the car comes to a complete stand still on a highway signal. Is this the "QUALITY" provided by Maruti Suzuki? I trusted Maruti for its reliability, quality and service when I made the purchase decision - I now realize I was mistaken & being a lady driver, I am also concerned about my security, if the incident had occured on the expressway at late night.
At the very least I believe I should be replaced with a new car which has been manufactured under stringent quality controls.
I need to know whether Maruti Suzuki would consider my request and what steps they are taking to improve on reliability and service.
