Fortuner
Clutch

Dear sir,

I bought 2 Toyota FORTUNER in March DL3CBD3283 & DL3CBD3285 from Galaxy Toyota.

This has reference to periodic servicing of my FORTUNER (DL3CBD3285), which was given for servicing on 18/08 at M/S Galaxy Toyota Moti Nagar vide Job order no GSJ11-40618, as the vehicle was having a pick up & acceleration problem. On opening the vehicle I was informed that the clutch is totally burnt out & needs to be replaced involving an expenditure of Rs. 40, 000/-

I wonder as the vehicle has run only 29000 kms & at this stage clutch is totally burnt out under normal driving conditions. The service engineer Mr. Guneet informed me telephonically that clutch is a consumable part & its life span can not be predicted as it depends upon the driving conditions.

Here I will like to inform you that this vehicle is self driven & has not been driven on heavy gears and without a foot being usually put on clutch pedal.

I have been using HONDA vehicle from the last 10 years with the same driving habbits & never faced this type of problem.

In march I shifted to TOYOTA & went ahead buying 2 FORTUNERS inspite of Global hype about quality problems with TOYOTA. If this type of life expectancy is faced with the parts which are so expensive, it shakes the confidence of the buyers in buying such expensive vehicles from TOYOTA.

I hope you will look into it & revert back, otherwise it effects the image of the BRAND in customer’s mind & perception which is shared with other potential buyers of the BRAND.

Sincerely yours,

(Rakesh Gakhar)
