I bought 2 pairs of sandals in May from the Hush Puppies store at Ambience Mall in Gurgaon.
I bought one in black (product code 7646113-5) and the same in gold. I was shocked that within 10 days of using the black ones (which I wore more often than the gold ones) the seam at the edge started opening. I am a very busy working professional and really don’t have the time to keep going back to the store whenever I want so I went back after 2 weeks to be told that they can stick it back together. However, when I did bring the sandals to have them repaired they said it cannot be stuck back together and gave them back to me asking me to write in for a replacement.
So i wrote to Bata customer service and they agreed to replace them but when i went to the store (thrice since the manager is nto there half the time) they refused to replace the gold pair saying that I should bring it back when it tears completely. He said he would give me a verbal 6 months guarantee but cannot give it in writing. I find that absolutely ridiculous - it is very obvious that there is a defect in both sandals which are coming apart at the seams but the store manager decides to use his own discretion and is trying to close a side deal with me which is not in writing.
For 2 pairs of sandals which cost me INR 5000, i have made 4 trips, written several mails and am tired and fed up and frustrated at the level of service that i have got and eventually am stuck with both pairs of sandals which i cant wear. Bata customer service doesnt even have the decency to respond to my emails.
Sincerely request your help in fighting this battle with Bata. These sandals are not cheap by any standard and Bata should be made to pay for this harassment to their customers.
