Recently I had problem with my Sony laptop FJ1s (WIFI was not working). I had given it to service at Sony service Centre, Adyar on 19th Sep 09. On 21st Sep, I received a call from them and said, it was a chip problem and that need to be replaced to fix the issue, also it would cost about Rs. 300 Service charge Rs. 1000. I said ok, go ahead and replace it. After this, there was no update for about 4-5 days. And I was trying to reach the service centre through Sony customer care (as this was the only number specified in the registration slip) and the replied, they are not allowed to provide the service centre number, and they will inform to the service centre to call me back. I waited for few days they did not call me back.
I sent one of my cousin to service centre on 25th Sep 09 to get an update on this. They informed my cousin, that we don’t need to come to the centre and they will call and update once it is ready. I waited for few more days and received a call on 29th Sep and said, the entire board (CNX-339) need to be replaced to get the WIFI working and it would cost about 900/-. I said ok, but I need an estimated delivery date. He said he would deliver it by Oct 3rd.
Finally I received a call from them on 6th Oct and they said everything is working fine, and you can come and collect the product. I asked my father to go ahead collect. Finally the bill came about 2038 and he paid and collected the product.
When I checked the Laptop, I found the DVD drive was not working. And it was also not properly fitted (In the bottom, one side it was properly closing and not on other side). I went and report them about this on the next day morning.
They took it again to the service room for 10 min and said, The DVD drive was week during the service as well but they did not report to me. And when I asked about the fitting, this the way all the laptops are designed. If I want to replace it would cost about Rs. 8000-/.
I am sure it was working before I had given it for service and more over they had my laptop for about 20 days but I did not even say single word about it. Also I am not sure about the fitting.
I wanted to compliant about them for spoiling my DVD drive. Could you guys help me in filling the compliant?
