This is to draw your attention towards my experience with your product Lenovo Y series 510. I regret to mention it has been most dissatisfying.
I purchased the device in Apr 09. On the very next day, a defect in the keypad was identified, however this was addressed by the retailer and the replacement was done.
Within 4 months of usage, the left hinge of the laptop broke and the device became unusable. I approached the authorized service centre for the problem. I was promised a solution in 7 working days. However after repeated follow up with the team, my laptop was repaired in 30 days!!! This is highly unprofessional.
Lately the screen of the laptop is not working; it has made the device a complete useless box and upon this the retailer and the service centre team was least reluctant to resolve the issue and has misbehaved in a big way.
Somehow, I get back my device after a month period from service centre and to my surprise it was running fine. Unfortunate enough, my trust over the brand started to build up but here comes another bouncer….DEFECT …BOTH THE HINGES BOUNCES OUT FROM THE DEVICE!!!

Somehow I manage to cool down and thought of writing a thesis on this. After my deep research on the product and expert opinion captured from various retailers I came to know that it’s a manufacturing defect…A MANUFACTURING DEFECT in a LENOVO Product….since the weight of the screen is too heavy to be mounted on the loosely coupled base!!!
What??? Retailer has washed away his hand by selling me a Defected Product….
Now, the present situation is that I have a Lenovo Machine just 18 months old having both the Hinges out of order….n Out of Warranty…Should I get back to service centre who will charge heavy bills and blame me for this hardware failure…
Don’t you think it’s a cheat on the part of Lenovo to sell off such a product which inspite of delicate use cannot last for 2 years… forget about the warranty….
Please suggest what I should do now!!!
Also clarify me over your repair policy, since service centre team commit 7 days to resolved the bug but inspite of constant reminder they generally takes month time to repair the device, What do you think of the customer….!!! Don’t we have enough work other than to run after the service centre team? This is not acceptable at any level…..it has been the awful and most dreadful experience I have ever faced with any electronics company.
Big time SORRY!! But to me Lenovo simply does not have any moral values and quality standards, most unethical in their wordings, unreliable product quality and unskilled workforce in service centres.
I purchased the device with anticipation that it will run successfully for 5 years without giving me much trouble…courtesy to LENOVO but it has failed to live up to my expectations!!!
