I purchased an acer 4743Z laptop just a month ago, both the external and internal mikes were not working because the main board was missing, thus it proves to be a defective one, so i asked for a replacement as it was a hardware defect, but the dealer refused and just provided us with a service saying that it is companys policy..
As the company has sold me a defective laptop i have a right to get a new one in replacement.
