I recently went to the shop 'Anuj Electronics' an authorized dealer of LG products at Shop No. 9, B-13, Shalimar Garden, Ext - 2, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Pin - 201005. I ordered a Transcend external HDD which supports Linux Kernel 2.4 and above. They said they will give the said brand. So I paid them using my Debit Card and got my Customer Copy of Bill. Next day I went to the shop to collect my purchase but got a Seagate Expansion Drive which doesn't supports Linux Kernel at all. I asked them why they didn't get me a Transcend brand HDD as the Seagate doesn't support my Linux Kernel. They said please try the product first and then come to us for replacement. I tried under Ubuntu 11.04 and Fedora 14. But the result I already knew. So I went back to the shop to return the product, they also verified it with their Engineer who said that if its not written on the pack then it may not support the Linux Kernel. They finally agreed to my point.
Then they promised to get me either Western Digital HDD or Transcend HDD. I specifically asked them to get the Transcend one as it is what I'm using currently and had no problems under Linux.
Next day some agent of them called me from the number 0120 - 4370519 and said that they couldn't find the HDD which supports Linux Kernel 2.4 or above. I asked him to look specifically for Transcend StoreJet 500 GB and if still not possible return my money so that I can get on my own. They refused that and said refund is not possible.
I never signed any document of them saying that once paid, refund is not possible. I have the Debit Cards customer copy bill with me (thankfully as I could have paid them through cash and they would simply refuse later that I made any payment before). Now I'm in a crisis as I wasted my Rs 2900/- for the thing I never got.
If anyone here could help me on how to deal with the situation, I'll be thankful to them.
