D.Banumaiah's College of Commerce and Arts, Mysore is a first grade college coming under the Directorate of Collegiate Education, Govt of Karnataka. It is a college getting 100% grant from the government. The post of principal became vacant in 2006 and one by name M.S.Vijayakumar was appointed as the principal on the basis of seniority. When the post had to be approved by the government some vested interest in the staff of the college and some members of the management colluded aginst the incumbent principal. They constituted an independent enquiry committee to enquire into some frivolous charges which delayed his approval by more than two years. After the independent enquiry committee exonerated all charges against M.S.Vijayakumar, the management just to enable its own candidate to become the principal intimidated M.SVijayakumar and another Senior Professor M.R.Manjunath by threatening them that they should give in writing that they are not willing to accept the responsibility of the post of the principal of the college.
The management threatened M.S.Vijayakumar that another enquiry commission would be constituted against him and his pension will be withheld (M.S.Vijayakumar is on the verge of retirement).
Your Honour, this amonts to gross violation of human rights as M.S.Vijayakumar belongs to a minority commuity.
