This is to bring to your notice the disappointing after sales service of Blackberry India (Kolkata) and the unfavourable waranty norms of Blackberry. I purchased a brand new BB Curve 3G (9300) on 17/03 from Kolkata, India. The phone was working fine till yesterday when I found that the screen had gone white and there was no visible display. The phone was in my pocket all day within the holster and I am pretty much sure that no damages were inflicted on it. There was no apparent external injury/damage to the phone (not even a scratch on the screen protector). I took it to the Blackberry authorised Service Centre (Redington India Ltd., Crescent Tower, Minto Park, Kolkata - 700020) in Kolkata where I was informed that the warranty will not cover the damages because the lcd screen was broken and I have to cough up Rs.6000 for a screen-replacement. I am certain the incident happened because of a faulty lcd screen which can't be proven conclusively from my end, hence I am being charged with the screen replacement charges. This sort of service and treatment is hugely disappointing.
