I handed over my sound system to the sony service station (company owned) in the month of march. Sony people promptly identified the problem and informed me that the optical lense with assembly has to be changed which will be costing rs.3200/-. I immediately agreed for that and the same was repaired with a warranty period of six months starting from 10.03.2007. During the first week of july, the system developed some problem because of this there was a break in the picture display in play mode. When i reported the same to the sony people who attended the job earlier along with my receipt and other details they collected the set and handed over to their authorised service center namely club electronics at south extension, new delhi. After 10 days period i was told by the authorised dealer that the "optical lense with assembly " has to be changed and i should pay for that. When i asked them about the warranty they told that the will be able to extend the same after getting the confirmation from sony (even after collecting the original receipt from my side) i am surprised whether, sony is using original spares or replacing the substandard / obsolete items under the banner of servicing.
