Faulty micro switch

Hi,

I have purchased Panasonic battery operated electric shaver in Dec'2008. Since purchase, after using for hardly couple of times, its micro switch (switch that changes the operating modes like On/Off/Trimming) gone bad. I approached company service centre located in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. I handed over my shaver to service centre and after couple of follow-up, I was asked to collect the instrument which was not really repaired but they removed the switch connection itself. So now, the moment cells are inserted, instrument gets On and will remain On till cells are removed. Company service center people asked me to contact in one month so that they can get switch replacement. After multiple follow-up by phone calls and in-person visits, till date, I did not get any response from service center.

Service centre people are telling that they don't have switch available anywhere in Hyderabad and they will replace total body itself (with same motor and blade or original instrument).

I am wondering whether Panasonic service network is not able to find suitable switch or compatible spare body of the instrument after more than 1 year.

If they are not able to service such instrument that gets non-functional within few days of purchase, they should call back all such products from the market to avoid inconvenience to customer.

Now on, I will think twice before purchasing any Panasonic product because I suffered a loss of around 2000 Rs with this shaver.
