I had purchased a wardrobe, a double bed with side table and a center table from Vijay Furniture, Goregaon East, Near Oberoi Mall Signal. It was a made to order furniture. the wardrobe was in display but was defective and I had ordered the same style wardrobe. I was told that they will make a new wardrobe and the one that was ready was only for display purpose. the same thing was with center table. I was told that every thing will be made new. I had made part payment during booking. balance was to be paid before delivery.

When I was called for the inspection before delivery, I saw that the double bed was having defects at 2 - 3 places. even the wardrobe was the same, the one that was in display. they had only polished it from outside and inside. i told them to rectify the defect in bed and call me again. they were not ready to give the delivery without the final payment and that too after realisation of the cheque.

also they were not ready to agree about the defect which was clearly visible from far. they said that it was minor and will do it. i was called again for the inspection. but they had not rectified the defect and told me that it was not possible and it is hardly seen. this is all we can do. that was their reply.

i had no other option but to accept the goods as there was a function in my house and i had no time to buy another one before the function.

even the side table was the same that was in display during booking. the finishing was 3 grade.

i thought that atleast the quality will be good. but when i got the delivery i saw that the quality was more worst than the aesthetics. the alignment of wardrobe door was not proper. the pullout drawer below the wardrobe was not functioning properly and the front panel had got loose.

Now I am just following up with them to repair the same.

I had decided that I will never step into that shop again. But I also want others to be aware of this. I don't want anyone else from Mumbai suburbs to get cheated by buying furniture from Vijay Furniture, Goregaon East.

I learnt that it is always better to buy readymade furniture and the same thing that you have seen will be delivered.

In India such type of service is very common but people have no time to fight with them and get the refund. Customer has no value and there is nothing called customer service.

there are 99% chances of getting cheated whenever you buy anything in India. You will never get 100% value of your money.
