On 28th Of May - I agreed to a package of 10 sittings with 3 modalities per sitting for an amount of RS 3600/-. I took 4 sittings and have a balance of 6 sittings left.
On July 13 I mailed another Dr on the panel stating that I would not be able to continue with the balance sittings due to a development in my condition and the doctors have advised to put the physio on hold till further investigations.
My request to either refund the balance money or give an extended credit note for that amount was snubbed down stating that they were not Shoppers stop! I requested them if they could deduct some extra money of maybe 1 more sitting and then give me the balance as a credit note so i could at least not waste that amount and gift it forward to some one needy also fell on deaf ears.
Their claim that they do not have a refund policy / credit note policy is not mentioned on the bill they gave me nor on the leaf let they advertise with.
My question is: Is this Ethical?
is it right for doctors to make money this way for services not rendered?
Would it not be beneficial to come to some workable solution .. deduct maybe some late
fee and return the balance / give a credit note so that it least the balance amount can
really be used by someone else.?
For a few days i thought I would chalk this up to charity ..to forget this amount .. but really when i see plight of people around me ..i feel I should at least try and see if this amount can be recovered and really given to a needy person as charity rather than just help these doctors warm their already rich pockets.
Q - can this be done??
