On 8/30/06 I ordered 70 purses from Jaipuraccents.com. I had to pay up front $424.00. I was assured via e-mail that my shipment would arrive within 15 days. After 25 days had passed I began to e-mail them asking for status.

They finally responded to my many e-mails and eventual threat to contact my C.C. company to reverse the charges (I wish I had done so then!) They sent me a very nice e-mail:
"We apologize for not answering your emails earlier. Your order is late in production. All our staff & team is working round the clock in production to get all pending orders dispatched earliest. Due to the hand work on all pieces the production has been late. We will be able to ship your order within this week. Please do not apply for a refund through your bank."
A subsequent e-mail assured me that my shipment would hapen by 10/15/06.

On 10/20 I sent this:
Dear Sir,
I am writing to ask you to please update me on my order? I have emailed multiple request and have not received a response. I ordered from your company in good faith and you have shown me only disrespect and poor service in response.

I am asking at this time that you issue a full refund since you have not communicated with me and it has been almost 2 months since I placed my order and you canot seem to fill

If you do not reply you leave me no other choice then to make this issue a legal matter, I m hoping you will not force me to go in that direction.
Please, please respond ASAP.

Their response:
Hello Ms. M**,
Please give me two days. I will either get your order or your refund.

He never contacted me again despite numerous e-mails. On 10/27 I then sent them notice that I was going to small claims court, that got their attention, I recieved this:
Hello Cheryl,
Please give us time till 4th November before taking any action.

Our internet lines were down for three days & our MD Mr. Rajesh had contacted you just before that. You can contact us anytime on 91 98286 01018.

Your order has been delayed due to extraordinary circumstances facing our company. Our website was down for more than one month due to technical reasons & have come up again only yesterday. It will just take us a few days to recover & back on our feet. We have some very old customers from the Hawaii who buy silver jewelry from us & any customers from the Islands of Aloha is very special to us. We will try to compensate for the inconvenience caused to you in our future orders.

We can assure you that your order or a refund will be completed by the 4th of November.
Further please note that as soon as the matter goes sub judice, we will have to stop our all efforts of order delivery or refund, till the matter has been legally resolved. So do inform us of your plans.

I e-mailed back that I was not going to fall for that again, I had been asked before to wait only to never hear from them and for them to please just issue a refund, I recieved this back:

Dear Cheryl,
Please note that we are a textiles manufacturing company since 1991 and have more than 150 customers all over the world. We take small orders like yours in hope of regular big orders from you in future. We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you, whatever the reasons & wish you would continue with us. For your next order we will offer you to pay after you have recieved the pieces & are satisfied by them.

Regarding this order, we know that it will be very easy for you to submit a legal form or just go to your credit card bank & apply for a full refund chargeback BUT we request you to give us till 4th November to sort this thing out. This might be the third time we have asked you to wait but you can consider it the last time.

I again asked for a refund, I told them I did not want to do business with a company like them and I did not want their product. I did not recieve a response and on Nov 4th received and e-mail that my order had shipped.
I recieved the order on 11/14/06 and it was horrible! they had sent me 100 purses of the 70 I ordered and only 20 of them were what I had ordered, when I sent an e-mail asking about it this is what they e-mailed back:

Hello Cheryl,
The extra pieces were added because we had to change some of the designs you ordered.
We are coming up with a new website with new collections and new staff at http://jaipuraccents.com within 2 days & thats why all this mess of delays & different designs. Do order again for holiday sales from our new site & I assure you of best service. We will be adding clothing also in our new site.
Do inform us if you don't like the 100 handbags we send you, & we will send more free (shipping not included).

I was absolutely amazed that they had done this to me, I let them know that they had created a huge mess, of the 100 purses only 52 were in good enough condition to sell. I just wanted to be done with these people so I said I would pay for 52 of the purses which left me with a $109.40 credit with them for future use, I also asked for them to arrange for return of the unsaleable product or I would donate it.

They agreed to my terms and asked me to donate the extra product, which I did. For the next several weeks I checked and checked and checked with their website but they never had purses avaialbe. Finally on 12/27/06 I sent this:

Greetings,
I would like to finish up business with your company but your web page for purses still does not work?
Since I am unable to use the credit of 109.40 will you please issue a refund to my credit card? I think it could be the least your company could do after all the poor service you provided.
Please update me?

Their response:

Dear Cheryl,
Thanks for your mail.
We will confirm your offer by 3rd January.

They did not contact me again. I e-mailed and e-mailed asking for a response or refund, finally I e-mailed them and told them I was reporting them to every website and organization available to me warning consumers about their fradualant website and this is what they sent me:
Dear Cheryl,

We are in consultations with our lawyers regarding how to proceed with you in lieu of your grave threats & efforts to shut us down. This email is to inform you that all your previous & future emails sent to us or to others may be used in our case. If we decide to proceed, you will recieve our first notice very shortly.

Unbelievable! I welcomed their lawyers to contact me and asked if they had informed their lawyers that they had stolen $109.40 from me. I stated I had the right to file complaints about them and warn other consumers about their scam of Bait & Switch, ignoring and stealing from a company that had ordered with them in good faith. Today 01/25/07 I recieved this:

Dear Cheryl,
Our plan was to put up the handbags catalogs by 2nd january & offer you to chose from any of them to the value of the amount due to you. Unfortunately the website development got delayed & if you go to our website again, you will notice that the Handbags catalogs are up today.

Unfortunately the harm you have done to us has been tremendous resulting in great loss of business & goodwill to us. In the emails written to us & others your threatening language can be judged as deliberate effort to defamation by libel & slander and even blackmail by law.

The subject line of this email is similar. We believe that the defamation is irreversable. We might even have to shut down our very old business because of this. You did write earlier "will continue to do everything in my power to shut you down! ". We repeat again that we
are in consultation with International experts to take legal action against you. If we do decide to go ahead, we will be asking for apology & compensation in lieu of the loss incurred due to your personal & deliberate campaign. If we had an office in USA, we mighthave taken action 15 days ago.

Each email you send us has deliberate defamation matter which makes us more determined to find you liable
for what you say. Further we owe you US$109.40 (and we have never claimed that we dont)
as credit but since this matter might go subjudice very soon, we may have to wait till the matter has been resolved legally.
We will respond to your future emails if they are sent to [email protected] or [email protected] only without any copies.

I emailed back that I had only stated the truth about them and would continue to do so, and as far as them being shut down they only have their poor business practices to blame, not me.

Do not order or deal with this company! I do not think they will pursue anything with me, i think they are trying to intimidate me and it will not work. I will continue to file complaints against them whenever I can.
