Sir
Sub: Rickshaw Driver’s adamant attitude
Today morning at 8 O' clock I requested a Auto Rickshaw (carrying Reg No MH05 Z 1320) waiting at Lok Gram rickshaw stand (Netivali, Kalyan E) for a trip to Kalyan railway station along with my mother, aged 76, who is unable to walk long distance. We were hurry to reach the Station to catch the train, which was scheduled for departure at 8.35 in the morning. We also had some luggage with us. But the Rickshaw driver refused, saying that he would not carry us upto the Station point and would drop only up to the corner, wherefrom it takes a turn to one-way that goes to the Station.
I was faraway from the Station corridor and in the traffic it was difficult for my mother and myself with luggage to walk. I requested him to take us up to where Rickshaws regularly go. The adamant rickshaw driver refused to take us and asked me to go to anywhere I could go with the grievance. I pleaded with him to understand our difficulties and my aged mother's inability to walk but he only showed his anger against my request. Then I had to walk up to the Highway for catching another Rickshaw along with my mother with luggage on the shoulder, which helped us reach the Station point indicating that Rickshaws can go up to the Station corridor.
Such adamant Rickshaw operators, who take rules in their hands and feel no mercy on even aged ladies only add to miseries of the public and render encouragement for others to go by such merciless ways.
Hence, you are requested to look into the matter and deal with such elements appropriately, from within your authority.
Sincerely
K V Udaykumar
