Respected Sir/Madam,

I am a Barclaycard holder (CARD NO: 4339 4810 0616 0713). I was offered an invitation to priority circle membership which according to my understanding was offered free of cost. But my account reflected a charge of Rs. 5500/- along with a service tax of Rs. 741.60/-. So a total of Rs. 6241.60/- was charged in me for Priority circle membership. I was totally taken aback and promptly called back your customer care. They took down my complaint and upon enquiry from me after 72 hours they said that the charges cannot be reversed as apparently i consented to the proposal after knowing about the charges.

I totally disagree to such an acquisition and after i went through your terms and conditions for priority circle, according to Clause 2, subclause b., and c.,

b. The participation of Cardholder (s) in the Program is voluntary and if a Cardholder (s) chooses not to participate in the Program, then he/she shall inform/intimate the Bank in this regard within 21 days from the date of the amount has been debited to his card account, in the manner as indicated by the Bank at its sole discretion from time to time. In the event, a Cardholder (s) decides not to become member of the Program and has communicated the same to Bank within the 21 days mentioned above, then the Bank shall reverse such charges received from the Cardholder (s) provided that the Cardholder has not availed any benefit of the programme.

c. Subject to terms of 2 b above, If a Barclaycardholder decides to withdraw from the Program, then he/she shall intimate the Bank of the same. Upon withdrawal from the Program, all Charges pertaining to the Program, borne by Barclaycardholder, shall be reversed.

I again called up your customer care at priority circle, and expressed my decision to withdraw from the programme clearly in straight words, siting the terms and conditions as above.

But till date whenever i called cust. Care to verify the reversal, they are telling that the fees cannot be reversed, i have not used the card once on 27 may there was message that the statement is deliverd but i have not received i have also called the customer care for the complaints that i have not received the statement they told me that it is being reflectef deliver wht i can do till date nothing is being deleiverd to my addresss they r not listening just blaming me that the fees had to be paid but my due date for payment was 9 may. but i returned my card on 1 may i had never used the card once the fees is just for the membership i want to ask if the customer is returning the card before the due date and that to without using the membership then to the services are to paid by the customer which i totally disagree this is undue haressment frm the bank side.

to my disbelief i do not understand being a loyal customer and having creditworthiness in the market i myself lodge the complaint to block the the block the card on 9 may on the very day of my payment due date upon my request to block the card but still the want the payment every thing they have done but they are asking for the payment frm the customer

In this regard I am requesting Consumer complaints officials should take actions against BARCLAYCARD priority circle on this issue.

They should cancel the membership and revert charges to my account.as i do not hold the card any further
