I purchased a sofa in 2nd week of March'08 from M/s Furniture Mall, Kharghar (branches at Thane and Borivali) Navi Mumbai for Rs.20, 000.00 under exchange offer (w/o exchange price Rs.25000.00).
I witnessed within week that stiching is very poor and its coming out at 3-4 places. Informed the same to supplier over phone and they promised to repair the same within one week. Neither they called back nor sent any one for repair. In the next week i found that sofa legs are not made of steel (as was promised while purchase) as steel foil had come out of one of the lesga.
In my next follow up (again over phone) i added this comlain as well and again they promised to send some to do the needful. I kept calling them for one week. No one turned up. I personally vited them on 19th April and insisted that they should take back sofa and return my money back. They didnt listen.
They had delivered to me sofa at my home and collected cash payment but no invoice/bill was given, i had received only delivery challan. I also reminded them i am still waiting for the invoice. During my discussion with their owner Mr Sameer i surprisingly found that they dont have VAT registration for their mall and cant give me the invoice. In fact to avoid my demand for invoice, he tried scaring me that i need to pay 12.5% extra to get the invoice. However he finally agreed to replace the Sofa.
I was waiting for the replacement on 20th and 21st April'08 and when called them, i was refused that they made any such promise and offered me threir repair service again. I refused to accept. However i my absence they called up my residence Number conviced my wife for repair service. She hesitantly agreed with a intention to get out of this mess asap.
Two guys visited my house on 22nd April and wanted to see Delivery challan and pretend to repair sofa. They also confimred to me (over phone as i was away) that this sofa is defective and to make it completely alright they have take this back to their workshop and i could sense their wrong intension and refused to them take it away. However in this hussle bussle they took back the delivery challan back with them (the only proof that i had).
Now they are neither ready to replace the sofa nor give my money back. I tried reaching their owner but was refused by show room sales man that they dont give Boss phone number to any one. I am plannning to see his owner somehow personally soon but feeling helpless as their intentions are very clear that they want to get away with this FRAUD. What should I do now?
However i would like you guys to note the furniture mall addresses and phone Nos and help other know that this is mall is running illegal/unregistered and they dont care for customer once you paid them-
