I travelled from the domestic airport to BKC (cab no. MH-06-X 4076). The cabbie picked me up and then was called by a policeman.. He then asked me whether i have the pre-paid bill coz the police person had kept his license. I told him that I will get the pre-paid receipt and can go further. He asked me to give Rs. 350 for BKC, which is obnoxious. Then he told me to get off the car and pay him Rs. 20 as minimum fare (I had just come 100 mtrs, from where i boarded the cab). I disagreed and then he tried to bulley me and then suddenly came down to Rs. 180 for BKC. I refused and then he started begging me for it. I agreed and he then took me to BKC. Where i had to get down, he asked me for two Rs. 500 notes in lieu of Rs. 1000 note. I gave him and suddenly he just flicked one of the two notes. I told him as to where the note was and he started shouting again. I still made him come out of the cab and checked his pockets and back pockets, but i could not prove that he had flicked my note. In the end, I only gave up coz i didnt want to fight with him beyond a point.
I dont know who reads these posts or whether they are for browsers' entertainment to read and forget. But if someone does take these seriously, I would urge the authorities, or the police or whosoever is concerned to take strict action against him. I am from Delhi and my experience of Mumbai has been scarred. Everone works really hard to earn money. I am traveling alone to Mumbai and trying to perform well so that I could sustain a living. But when money goes away like this, it really hurts.
