Hi,
I used to have HSBC gold card: 4384 5999 1352 6470. 2 or 3 months back I faced a financial crunch so I availed the Cash on EMI provided to HSBC credit card customers for the balance amount not used. It was of amount 70000. If I include interest and file charges it would come around 77000. After 10 days I got a call from HSBC that they have an offer in which I can upgrade the card to Platinum card. I thought it would be a good choice to take the platinum card. So they provided me new platinum card : 4862 6989 0031 6936 and cancelled my old card. But when I received the statement of my new platinum card I got the shock of my life, they transferred whole of 77000 as lump sum amount without breaking them in EMI. I called up HSBC and told them that it was they who provided the upgrade without informing the consequences. I then requested to cancel the current platinum card and provide my old gold card back. But I got a negative response from HSBC. I felt cheated. I got the card cancelled paid around 72000 back and I called them up that rest of the interest I am not going to pay as I have not been provided Cash on EMI as promised by the bank.. Now HSBC is not agreeing to my point and as per the current statement I have pay late charges plus balance amount.
Kindly let me know how to deal with it. This is a clear cut cheating from HSBC bank. I used to have a very good relation with the bank. But after this incidence I am really shocked.
Thanks and Regards
Jilow
