Hi,
After the expiry of my previous C.C of HSBC bank, the bank sent me 2 renewed credit cards, which are the following:
4384 XXXX XXXX 5640 -- Abhishek Sharma
4384 XXXX XXXX 7303 -- Abhishek Sharma
Then, I requested them to cancel one card ending with 5640 to them as I had 7303 actively working on my account. After cancellation of 5640, they automatically issued me a new card i.e. 4384 XXXX XXXX XXXX 1767 which has never been delivered to me. As my 5640 card has outstanding amount of 600 Rs so I transferred the due amount on 24th September on card ending with 5640. The payment got credited back to my savings account due to account closure & without intimating me.
To my surprise, bank transferred my outstanding dues on a non-delivered card which was ****1767. They keep on charging the interest rates without even bothering to send me the statemant for even a non-existent account. The only statement I received in this duration was for ****7303 which was showing zero outstanding.
Straightaway I received a notice from the Manager-Debt Management stating that I'm liable to pay 1566 Rs as the outstanding amount on card ****1767 (mind you this is the card whose number also I dont know before this notice came coz I never got the statement through post/mail or even through the online account I'm holding with HSBC.
My question is why they have not transferred the dues on ****7303 which was the card I was holding if ****5640 had been purposefully cancelled. Why my dues got transferred to a non-existant card & why I did not get any intimation from the bank that my oustanding is so & so. I can never check the status or outstanding amount information on a non-existent card plus this never delievered card does not have my D.O.B & mother's maiden name which forbids me to get any information related to these dues through phone banking as well. I went to branch too a couple of times but to no avail. These guys keep on playing with the honest customers through unfair practises like this, so I urge consumer court to bring them to justice, coz its not merely about 900 Rs more they charged but spoiling the whole business ethics.
