I have received my first statement on 19th December and since then been using the card until 1st September. From day one the card was wrongly charged by bankers followed by late fee, interest charges & service due to non payment for wrongly charged amount. On request with customer care some wrongly charged amount as well as few late fee, interest charges & service tax were reversed for first & probably last time on 19th December.
Since, then despite of both verbal & written request no action has been taken and as a result the late fee, interest charges & service tax which was not reversed bankers has been charging additional late fee, interest charges & service on due amount until statement dated 19th April.
Just for your information I have been a regular pay master for all the money spend on the above card number, the due amount reflected on the card is on account of late fee, interest charges & service tax components as on 19th April. Instead, I had send letters on 20th Feb, 16th April & 18th October duly acknowledged by person who came to collect cheque due to non payment from my side hoping to resolve & have the long awaited reversal done. Yes, in the whole process I admit my fault of not knowing that until the zero balance is reflected one should use card.
Recently on receiving payment follow up call from bankers despite of me asking representative to come down on a prior fixed dates they never turned and at times without prior appointment when they did manage to call or visit either I was either out of town or busy. While this process was repeated I suddenly received a letter dated 24th April on 26th April (Saturday) from banker collection centre at Hosur road stating that if within 3 days entire due amount is not paid the same would be debited to my saving account # 000201017920 with their commissariat road branch but to my surprise my account for already debited (which bankers called blocking) on 25th April as per mini statement of ATM.
Further, in response to the bankers letter dated 24th April I had responded vide letter dated 29th April and tried sending email to Mr. Anand Guruswamy Asst. Mgr which bounced back again attempted to fax the same letter as well as another letter dated 30th April it said no answer similarly my attempt to approach them on landline too failed. Finally, I had done registered posted with AD the entire communication on 3rd May yet there wasn't any response.
Suddenly, on 14th May I received a call from Mr. Anand Guruswamy late noon asking me to visit Hosur road office else money would be debited from my saving account. Understanding the seriousness I managed to visit them on 15th and to my surprise it first proposed a settlement for RS 28000/- which I denied and later again appraising him regarding my account been already debited it confirmed that settlement is not possible and ask me to contact his offices either in Mumbai or Hydrebad whose just address were mentioned in his letter dated 24th April and was unable to provide me any contact numbers, email address or even Chennai office address when I strongly proposed to visit the concern office to meet authorized executive. He advised that as the billing cycle for credit card is 19th of each month I have to hurry else my account would be debited on 19th May (though it was already debited way back on 25th April) but as some funds were only credited in my saving bank account on 5th May.
I immediately drafted the entire issue and emailed to [email protected] and at that time on 16th May late noon my saving account was shown available balance as RS 434954.71 and total available balance of RS 389348.43. Today at 0800 hrs I received an email from customer care stating as per norms stated in booklet banker can debit the saving account and accordingly my account has been debited for RS 45606.28 and it cannot be reversed instead he again guided me to contact another gentlemen in Hosur road office named Amit Chaurasia who was not available today along with concern managers which I again immediately emailed to customer care and waiting to hear from them.
Sir, my point is without even bothered to understand my part & position which is supported with documentary evidence how come banker just penalized for their fault & communication mistakes. In the whole process I am the one whose money has been debited to the tune of RS 45606.28. I seek for your help0 & guidance to take up matter strongly with bankers and ensure that other are not harassed and penalized like I am. My contact numbers are 919900394662.
