Hi,

This is in regards to H.T.T.C. - K.L. Mehra in Train #2903 Golden Temple from Ranthambore to New Delhi Railways station on January 20. I did not have a confirm ticket and had to come to Delhi in a hurry. Therefore, I bought a normal ticket and sat in the sleeper class. Thinking that I will pay the difference on the ticket in the train, as advised by the railway employee on the ticket counter. The H.T.T.C K. L Mehra asked me to pay Rs. 94 as the reservation charge and Rs. 250 as a penalty charge for boarding the train that was full. I was traveling in the day time between the 2 stations.

I would like to know if there is such a Penalty. If the fine is applicable then why did the T.C. did not give any receipt for that amount? There were 2 other people with me. We paid Rs. 1, 020 additional on a Rs. 268 tickets. Can something be done about this and for the people who abuse the system.

Please advise.
