We traveled to Bahrain on 26th April for the 2009 Bahrain F1 grand prix race from Mumbai. We were traveling exclusively to watch the race and were returning the same night. We checked in our luggage which contained our official race merchandise, caps and cameras for the race. Upon arrival in Bahrain airport, our bags did not come out.

PROBLEM 1: NO JAZEERA REPRESENTATIVE AT ANY AIRPORT

We tried to lodge a formal complaint at the Bahrain airport but were surprised to note that there were NO Jazeera reps available. Their office was shut and locked and we were told that we should check at 7:30 PM.

PROBLEM 2: NO COMPENSATION

We reached the racing venue without any of our essential items. In the desert heat of over 35 degrees, we needed our caps and gunglasses to protect us from the blistering heat. We had to purchase a cap and sun glasses as there was no other option. We also had to buy another bag for the return journey back home as our luggage did not arrive even when we returned at night. Needless to say our entire experience was ruined due to Jazeera Airways.

PROBLEM 3: NO OWNERSHIP OF RESPONSIBILITY

Upon our arrival in Mumbai, we followed up on mail and phone trying to contact the Jazeera Airways representative. For 3 days we received no word from them. Finally when we threatened with legal consequences, they managed to track down our bag. They mentioned that after we returned from Bahrain, our bags had gone to Bahrain and come back TWICE!! And they also had the audacity to blame another airline stating that they deliberately withheld our bags as they had competing flights and were trying to ruin their reputation. (I have this on mail)

PROBLEM 4: FALSELY ACCUSING ANOTHER AIRLINE

I honestly dont care if another airline had our bags. Isn't it Jazeera's reponsibility to ensure that our bags are with them and are delivered along with the passenger?

PROBLEM 5: BLATANT IGNORANCE OF OUR COMPLAINTS

We finally got our bag 1 week after we returned from Bahrain. For 1 week, Jazeera did not know where this bag was and after collecting the same, they have stopped taking our calls or responding to mails regarding compensation of costs of essential items we purchased in Bahrain. Its very clear that they are trying to hold out till the last minute when the receive a filed legal complaint from us.

So please beware and think twice before ever buying a ticket on Jazeera Airways. You may think you are getting a good deal, but when you buy that ticket, just imagine how your holiday will be ruined if they loose your bags and how much time you may have to waste while on holiday or when you get back to work to get your bags back.
