I was in desparate need of money for meeting the expenses of my daughter's marriage fixed on the 23rd. November. Adviced by my agent Sri Sanjib Das, I applied through Sr. DM to the Branch Manager, LIC CBO-7, 64, C.R.Avenue Kolkata 700 013 for surrender of my Jeevan Akhsay Policy no.418380664, dtd, 28-12 vide my application dtd.3rd. Nov. The application was accompanied with an invitation letter for the proposed marriage ceremony.
On my repeated query, my agent went on assuring me that I would get a reply soon.
However, till date, I have not received the coveted reply from LICI. My daughter's marriage has since been solemnised and my financial liabilities are constantly hounding me.
I am a senior citizen having retired after 32 years service from a public sector Organisation. The least I and many like me expect from a public sector organisation is proper and reasonable treatment with human touch to undertake our final jurney with the comfortable belief that I lived in a civilized country.
Would LIC top brass be interested to find out why senior citizens like me are treated as if we are totally incosequential animals!
Why daughters marriage is not considerd important enough reason for withdrawal from whatever agreement has been made with a govt organisation!
Why LICI ofiicers are not responsive to such matter considered important across the societies and civilisations!
