K850i broken - Unable to repai

Dear sir,

I got a Sony Ericsson phone K850i in March. In September of this year, it started giving problems. It was not able to pick up signal properly and it would get disconnected. I took it to the service station in R.T Nagar. I downloaded the firmware from the net. It still did not help.

The service guys mentioned that a software upgrade would take care of the issue. I told them I had already taken care of it. They insisted that this is different software. The problem was not solved. They mentioned it is an hardware issue and they will send the phone to chennai. They mentioned it will take 1 month to repair. I gave the phone to them on Oct 4th. I called them back today (Nov 2nd). They said they cannot repair it since the phone is out of date. I told them how can some thing be out of date and cannot be supported in 1.5 years for a phone that costs 10000. The guy changed the story and said he may have to change the mother board and it is 80% of the cost. I asked him ho much will mine cost. He said Rs. 8000. I said how can you mention 8000 without any research. He said it is 80% of 10000 (Which is just an approx. I paid 12000). He said he is busy and asked me to come to the service center and hung up.

I called Sony help in Delhi. They parroted the same story without much listening or thought. They claim they cannot help and cannot guarantee product even which costs 60000 since it is electronic item.

At this point I have no other go and want to find out my options.
