Cancellation of Direct flight and providng only connecting flight as alternative

My wife is travelling with a kid and who recently has undergone operation, have recently travelled from London To Bangalore. They are scheduled to travel back to London on the 23rd of November by a return flight from Bangalore-London.

Kingfisher have conveniently decided to cancel their London Bangalore direct flights and are now only willing to route them via Mumbai (connecting flight only). The wait period at Mumbai is about 6 hours.

If I had known that my wife would have to take connecting flights, I would have rather put them on Emirates/might have booked BA, the reason we chose Kingfisher is because it was a direct flight. I might have got cheaper price if I booked that ticket as connecting flight at first place.

I checked with Southall travels, they are saying if I want to cancel the ticket they will only pay £200 pounds which is 50% of the fair I paid. If I want to book, the direct flight from BA, one way it cost £500 for me.

The customer services are most unhelpful and I have decided to never travel Kingfisher again.

I am now seeking to complain on KF /Southall in the UK.
