LG
Delay in replacement of defective LCD TV

I purchased a LG 32" 53 FR Full HD LCD TV from authorised LG dealer on December 27 (Installation & Demo on Jan 10). An Engineer who visited and examined the set found defective LCD module (display panel) and reported replacement of the set on 23rd Feb. Company then kept silent for 2 weeks and then offered to replace the LCD module instead of complete set. However, the module sent on 14.03.2009 for replacement was not sealed. No specifications, or brand. It did not appear a new piece. I did not accept it and a clear receipt was not given to the delivery boy. The Engineer who came to replace the LCD module on 14.03.2009 opened the container. The LCD module was found in an opened up pouch of aluminium foil. It did not appear genuinine as there were no specification. I refused to allow replacement and talked to Mr. Manish Kakkar who had talked to me on telephone offering replacement of LCD module rather than the complete set. I told Mr. Kakkar that I am not convinced about the genuiness of the LCD panel (module) and asked him to either replace the set or genuinine LCD panel (module).

Since then the sent LCD module sent for replacement is lying with me and Mr. Kakkar or any representative of the company has not responded to replace the set or a genuinine LCD panel (module).
