I have an Airtel postpaid connection. I need to update my current residential address in airtel "my information". This cannot be done online. When i checked with the Airtel, they said i need to go to airtel outlet and provide some address proof which is in my name. Address proof can be any of the below :

1) Renal agreement in my name

2) Land line bill in my name

3) Ration card in my name

4) Gas connection bill in my name

5) Bank statement (Only SBI)

I don't have any of the above in my name. Everything is in my husband's name and i told i can provide the marriage certificate along with any of the address proof. But Airtel is not ok with the same. I have only citi bank account statement which is not acceptable according to their rules. I have been asking them to give me an option which i have and did not get proper response from them.

Since mine is the postpaid corporate connection, i asked them if the HR letter with the company letter head do? But they don't accept that too. I have no option left to update my current residential address.

I wanted to correct my address in order to be up to date and to provide the correct information. In future if any statement will go to my residential address, it would go to my old address which is of no use to me.

I'm sure other people also might have faced similar issues with address change. How can a public service be so unfriendly? How can it be out of options? When we don't have any of the mentioned proofs, Airtel should be able to provide atleast some alternative!!

I wish i get an option soon...
