This is sahil. i also had an Airtel PostPaid no 9910884991. i also had Airtel GPRS activated on that. i started receiving msgs from airtel WAP service from August charging me with 10, 15, 30, 50, 99 for different services like wallpaper, themes, videos, games etc which i never opted for. then i contacted Customer Care. they told me to de-activate the Airtel Live so that i dont get charged for those services. i got it de-activated, but still kept on receiving the msgs. i again contacted the CC, but they told me that i wont be charged for that. but when i saw bill of that month, i was charged for that. then CC people started saying that the charges are valid. i didnt pay the bills and finally my no was blocked with the Outstanding amount of Rs.11000 out of which, my genuine usage is about Rs.2000 only. i then wrote a letter to TRAI regarding this. in response to that i got a call from airtel appellate officer who asked me for time to investigate into this matter. he took about 2 months to do that and then finally told me the same thing as the CC people that the charges are valid and i have to pay the bill. i m finally taking this matter to Consumer Court. And i m not going to spare them for cheap this time. so the moral of the story is to take the matter to court because no one from the airtel is gonna listen to you.
